As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new researchers and traders. You will provide technical support and setup, ensuring all new team members have the necessary tools and access to hit the ground running. You will play a key role in improving day-to-day workflows and documentation, with a strong eagerness to help others—whether in person, troubleshooting calls, through guides, video tutorials, or company-wide presentations.
Your future role within QRT
- Provide technical support for researchers, setting up and maintaining Python, Linux, and AWS environments
- Maintain and improve onboarding material, tools and example notebooks in Python to help new joiners ramp up quickly
- Encourage and support better coding practices and workflows by providing guidance, tools and documentation
- Offer on-site support to local teams and projects as needed, with a helpful and approachable mindset
- Collaborate with researchers to understand their needs / pain points and deliver tailored solutions
- Continuously explore and test tools or technologies that can improve researcher efficiency, and share learnings internally
- Facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical team members
Your present skillset
- Good knowledge of Python, Linux, AWS.
- Solid understanding of data science workflows and tooling, to better support quantitative researchers
- Advocate for good software practices and sensible workflows, in a pragmatic and helpful way
- Adaptable pedagogical skills for varying coding levels among quants
- Practical, hands-on approach: you fix problems, make tools work, and demonstrate solutions when needed
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset: if something can be improved, you suggest it
- Strong written and oral communication: you write clear documentation and can explain complex tools or concepts
- Independent and collaborative: you work well alone, but always ready to help your teammates
- Willingness to occasionally travel globally for task force duties or key onboardings
- Basic understanding of quantitative strategies and the financial sector is a plus
- Passion for technology, demonstrated through personal projects or hobbies.
