The Technical Project Manager will manage the lifecycle of software and hardware projects, oversee project schedules and documentation, liaise with technology departments, and ensure compliance with market updates. The role requires effective risk management, stakeholder communication, and coordination of data center activities, while fostering client relationships.
Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our Core Engineering team in Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Managing the scope of software and hardware driven projects through their entire lifecycle
- Managing overall technical project schedules by developing and tracking project objectives, project milestones, changes, resources, and timelines
- Managing risks, escalating project and task anomalies, and resolving problems identified during projects
- Participating in internal and external meetings (including, but not limited to, exchanges, brokers, and other vendors) to gather project requirements and preparing detailed summarizes to share with relevant stakeholders
- Generating and maintaining accurate project documentation (spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps) and project plans (MS Project/JIRA/Confluence/Visio, etc.)
- Liaising between all technology departments, understanding requirements and influencing new standards and processes
- Managing mandatory market updates and changes from various exchanges, performing impact analysis, tracking work required to comply with the new changes, building and testing solutions internally and with exchange
- Planning and coordinating activities for physical work in data centers (capacity planning, physical hardware and network installations) as well as application layer and general concepts for network/server configurations
- Building client relationship and appropriately managing expectations
Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of relevant project management experience in the Financial Domain with around 4-5 years of working experience in total.
- Knowledge about financial markets especially Asian exchanges would be a plus
- Experience in infrastructure deployment and software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of Infrastructure (data centers, server, storage platforms) and Networking concepts
- Possess a highly analytical and strategic mindset with a strong ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills
- Great written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong networking skills within the industry and ability to build relationships with key contacts
Candidates should also be:
- Self-motivated, and able to work flexible hours (including Asia hours and weekends delivery critical solutions)
- Able to learn quickly and assume new responsibilities as the firm’s priorities change
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work both individually and with a team
- Able to travel internationally (Travel is not mandatory)
