ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for people that believe in collective product ownership, that the product we defined always try to solve a problem for gamers, and someone who are open to mentoring and being mentored. We have multiple product teams and software services in development with interesting tech problems to solve. If the opportunity to stretch yourself and learn new skills, to have collaborative, constructive conversations with other engineers, designers, and product managers about how to better our products, and the belief that we are always trying to create better product for gamers, this might be the place for you.

As a technical product manager, you will work to develop amazing gaming software from the design concept,  to the execution of products on our SteelSeries GG platform. You will responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of  our specific projects for our SteelSeries GG platform (Team Engine) while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.

NECESSARY SKILLS:

  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in the field of hardware/software technical product management, preferable in consumer electronics software and/or gaming
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience, preferably able to demonstrate experience bringing products to market.
  • Understand Software/Firmware integration, experience in firmware specification review and able to create software specification.
  • Experience in product roadmapping and product planning.
  • Strong communication skill and experience in manage stakeholder globally.
  • Discipline, highly motivated and goal/schedule/delivery oriented that can work independently.
  • Experience working in agile software delivery & know project management tool like JIRA.
  • Fluent in English/Mandarin languages
  • Experience in requirement management (change management) & schedule management (dependency management)
  • Understand HW users testing process and able to feedback and propose improvement.
  • Resource planning & software budget management.
  • Strong interest/passion for gaming and consumer electronics.

WITHIN 1 MONTH YOU WILL:

  • Iterate on product features and release software to millions of gamers
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, product designers, other product managers, and stakeholders globally.
  • Understand the business and how our software contributes to SteelSeries success.
  • Understand all the feedback channels that inform product direction.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Develop product experiments, draw insight from user research, iterate on UI wireframes, build prototypes, be very familiar with app analytics.
  • Empathize with our gamers through engaging in user interviews and other research methods.
  • Perform market research
  • Prioritize user problems/opportunities and business outcomes
  • Create product roadmaps to deliver on user and business goals

WITHIN 9 MONTHS YOU WILL:

  • Shape the direction of the product management practice at SteelSeries
  • Define the vision of software products
  • Mentor product managers in your craft
  • Run more product experiments that you have ever done
