Job Description

Rockwell Automation is hiring!

We are looking for a Technical Consultant, AMR - Asia Pacific to join us in our newly established team! We are open for the role to be based in our Singapore, Korea or Japan office.

Reporting to the Business Manager, AMR, Asia Pacific, you work with our Project Management team within our professional services organization to deliver value to our end users, channel partners, and OTTO Motors. TCs design and implement fleets of OTTO autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and software at our customer facilities. Also, the TC team delivers training to our integration partners and end-users, and evaluates use cases to establish guidelines and best practices for how OTTO Motors products can be used by the market, specifically by our integrator network. Furthermore, the TC team is a major contributor to defining our product requirements and is a major influencer of our product roadmap.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning & integration of AMR systems at client facilities throughout the world; this includes traveling to customer or integration partner facility for on-site deployment and integration with facility side automation equipment.
  • Support detailed solutions design of AMR systems using OTTO Motors products to meet the customer requirements; this includes workflow design, attachment design, map design and development/modification middle layer software logic using Ignition OPC/UA or PLC logic design and modification.
  • Author and execute acceptance test plans for validation of system functionality and performance.
  • Optimize system performance through analysis, simulation, and experimentation.
  • Project planning for the deliverables and work packages you own.
  • Communicate technical details and status to the customer and broader project team.
  • Consult with integration partners on all of the above
  • Deliver training to integration partnersand end users
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware technical issues using internal tools available; solve new and challenging technical problems related to the above
  • Travel 35 - 45 % travel within AP. Trips to site would typically be 2 weeks or more during the project integration phase.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Degree in an engineering, design, or industrial controls type of field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience commissioning & integrating industrial automated equipment or software that interfaces to the equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical systems/subsystems
  • Interpretation & design analysis of mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • PLC design and integration experience
  • Ability to work with Linux
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Experience with AMR/AGV systems integration
  • Train users of automated equipment/software
  • Author and modify software code (python, C++, or other)
  • Experience with inductive Automation Ignition OPC/UA software
