Team Leader-Project Planning
Reports to: Group Project Engineering Manager
As a Project Lead Engineer at Vanderlande within the APS (Airport and Parcel Solutions) business unit, you will oversee the design and execution of medium to large BHS and parcel projects. This role requires strong leadership and coordination skills as you will manage a team of engineers across various disciplines to ensure project success from initial design through to final handover. You will serve as the key technical liaison between the customer, project management, and the engineering team, ensuring all technical requirements are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team, including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Integration Engineers, across multiple regions (Europe and India).
- Oversee the development of integrated system designs from the Definition Phase to the Supply Phase, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and project specifications.
- Lead the technical execution of large-scale BHS and parcel handling projects, ensuring engineering deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with the client and other contractors, ensuring smooth communication and coordination between all stakeholders.
- Conduct design reviews, identifying any deviations from the contract and supporting the project management team in handling contractual changes.
- Take ownership of the engineering budget, ensuring all aspects of procurement, equipment, and subcontracted services are managed effectively and within budget.
- Lead risk management and health and safety analysis within the design process, ensuring all risks are mitigated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support construction management during the installation, commissioning, and acceptance phases, ensuring all engineering tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical project management, particularly in BHS or parcel handling systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams across different regions.
- Proven experience managing medium to large-scale engineering projects, including budget management, risk assessment, and technical execution.
- Willingness to travel internationally to manage project tasks and support installation and commissioning phases.
