Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Tax Analyst will be supporting all aspects of indirect tax compliance with opportunities to manage direct tax compliance and projects within the region.
  • Prepare/review monthly and/or quarterly GST/VAT returns of Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Indonesia, UK, Europe and UAE
  • Handle all aspects of indirect tax matters, including commenting on the GST/VAT treatment, manage GST/VAT audit and queries from tax authorities
  • Work with finance and other business functions to document and support all significant GST/VAT reporting
  • Keeping up to date on GST/VAT changes in the relevant locations
  • Involve in monthly closing, including monthly reconciliation relating GST/VAT payable and receivable accounts
  • Participate in direct/indirect tax project(s) as and when assigned
  • Assist in US and local tax reporting, including annual tax provision and deferred tax computation. This will involve extracting reports from accounting system (Workday) and requires working closely with finance team as well as coordination with tax advisors.
  • Assist to identify, understand and interpret tax laws and regulations to countries that applies to the operations and domicile of each entity within the Group; contribute to develop solutions to manage the Group’s exposure to taxes.
  • Research and evaluate impact of any new or revised tax laws and regulations that applies to the operations and domicile of each entity within the Group.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accountancy/Finance/Tax
  • Around 2-4 years of relevant tax experience
  • Strong background in indirect tax/ GST/ VAT, preferably in a regional role
  • Dynamic, driven, sharp, results-oriented and with strong understanding of business operations & key drivers
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to manage project independently
