Position Summary:
The Systems Integration Engineer Trainee will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and help create genomic analysis tools used in the leading edge of research. This position will participate in the development of high quality, robust products through the integration of hardware, software, and chemistry components. They will execute test plans in order to optimize product performance.
Responsibilities:
Hands-on testing and integration of systems - hardware, software, chemistry, and application components
Follow procedures, reliably execute moderately complex testing, collect data, summarize and present results.
Work effectively in a cross-functional project team
Participate in system level troubleshooting, works on problems of defined scope in which analysis of data, including system logs, identify cause of failure and make recommendations to the solutions.
Assist to tracks & maintains lab supplies & reagent inventory for projects.
Exposure to multiple areas outside zone of expertise.
Learning the Illumina PDP process.

Requirements:
Fundamental understanding of one of the core disciplines at an undergraduate level.
Understands the value of hardware and software configuration management.
Basic engineering ability to perform some repairs or modifications
Basic wet laboratory experience, ability to follow steps to execute full workflow
Python scripting experience is strongly desired.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Must be detail oriented and highly motivated.
A desire to be a part of a fast paced, multidisciplinary and dynamic environment.

Experience/Education:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biology or related field; or equivalent work experience.
