SVP/VP, Full Stack Engineer (Advisory), Wealth Management Technology, Group Technology

DBS Bank is seeking an exceptional Senior Vice President, Full Stack Engineer, to provide strategic technical leadership within our Wealth Management Technology department. This pivotal role will drive the overarching engineering, architecture, and product strategy at a platform level, shaping the future of our digital, advisory, and discretionary investment journeys for millions of customers across retail, affluent, and private banking segments.

You will manage a significant engineering organization, foster innovation, and operate with a long-term strategic vision across digitally managed portfolios and professionally managed discretionary mandates.

Responsibilities

• Drive the strategic architecture and solutioning for enterprise-grade portfolio and wealth management platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and future-proofing.
• Shape and evolve engineering, architecture, and product strategies for end-to-end portfolio lifecycle platforms, including:
  • Digital / low-touch investment portfolios
  • Advisory-guided portfolios
  • Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) mandates for HNW and UHNW
• Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex full-stack solutions that underpin critical portfolio management journeys (portfolio modelling, portfolio constructions, automated/semi-automated rebalancing, mandate management etc) across a wide array of products (Bonds, Structured Products, Equities, etc.).
• Oversee and manage up to 6 squads of highly skilled full-stack engineers, providing strategic direction, technical guidance, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, distributed micro-frontend architectures, and advanced engineering practices to build world-class platforms.
• Define and enforce best practices for CI/CD, DevOps, and deployment strategies utilizing platforms like OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), ensuring operational excellence and rapid delivery.
• Provide leadership in nurturing and developing engineering talent, including setting performance expectations, providing mentorship, and promoting continuous learning.
• Evaluate and integrate AI assistant coding tools and other emerging technologies into the development ecosystem to maximize efficiency and innovation.
• Act as a key technical advisor to senior management, advisory leadership, and business stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions and roadmaps for advisory and portfolio management platform.
• Maintain an extensive understanding of the financial services industry, regulatory landscape, and global technology trends, applying this knowledge to steer strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Extensive and demonstrable experience in architecting, building, and delivering large-scale, enterprise-grade full-stack platforms using Java, ReactJS, and Python.
• Proven expertise in designing, implementing and operate mission-critical investment and portfolio managements system that serve millions of users, with a focus on high availability, low latency and strong operational resilience.
• Deep architectural knowledge of distributed systems, micro-services, and advanced micro-frontend patterns.
• Mastery of CI/CD methodologies, advanced DevOps practices, and significant experience with cloud-native deployment platforms such as OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or similar.
• Exceptional leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead and inspire multiple engineering squads and drive large-scale technical initiatives.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with a proven ability to define and execute long-term technology roadmaps.
• Strong domain expertise in portfolio management platforms, spanning one or more of the following:
  • Digital portfolios for retail customers (low-touch, high-scale)
  • Advisory portfolios for mass affluent clients
  • Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) for HNW/UHNW clients
• Deep understanding of Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) capabilities, including:
  • Mandate-based investment management
  • Investment guidelines, constraints, and risk limits embedded into execution workflows
  • Pre-trade, post-trade, and real-time compliance monitoring
  • Performance measurement, attribution, and client reporting
• Strong knowledge of portfolio construction, rebalancing logic, and risk management
• Deep and comprehensive knowledge in advisory domains such as Portfolio Management, Construction, Rebalancing.
• Demonstrated experience in leveraging and integrating AI assistant coding tools and other innovative technologies to enhance engineering productivity and capabilities.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is a plus.
