Your Team
The Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Intern reports into the Quality and Manufacturing team and will assist in the different production phases of Silicon Labs products at our suppliers and manufacturing partners. You will work with cross-functional teams like Supplier Management, Product Test Engineering, Planning, Packaging Engineering, etc to ensure high quality products are delivered to our customers. You will work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on quality, environmental, social, governance requirements or requests, as well as support in product reliability and quality issues and monitoring.

As an Intern, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of product and process quality by actively engaging in hands-on activities and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your work will directly contribute to identifying quality improvements, optimizing workflows and ensuring compliance with industry standards. By driving initiatives in test monitoring and supplier collaboration, you will enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Additionally, you will gain valuable exposure to industry practices, advanced quality methodologies and cutting-edge technologies, building a strong foundation for your career in Quality Engineering. Your contributions will support continuous improvement efforts, enabling Silicon Labs to deliver innovative and high-quality products to the global market.
Summary: The intern will report into the Supplier Quality department and work with respective supplier quality managers in the areas defined below. He/she will also be expected to work with cross-functional teams as well as external suppliers of Silicon Labs during the course of internship.
Essential Functions:

Analyze customer quality incident trends, supplier process / product inspection data, yield data, process capability (Cpk), QA gate ppm trend

Support on-going reliability monitoring program

Assist in tracking Reliability Monitoring status and manage logistics flow

Provide automation development support to streamline testing and monitoring

Conduct performance analysis on key metrics such as product functionality, efficiency and durability

Identify and manage non-conformance incidents through detailed root cause analysis and corrective actions

Evaluate and manage non-conformance incidents, CAPA effectiveness and tracking corrective measures to address systemic issues

Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meeting to assess and disposition material

Provide continuous improvement to enhance quality using methodologies tools like FMEA, 8D, SPC, lean and six sigma

Support in supplier audit activities to ensure compliance with quality standards

Assist in SAP for aged material, MRB and qualification purpose

Supplier gap analysis and good benchmark practices

Any other project assigned by manager
Requirements:
Background in Electronics, Electrical or Computer engineering Familiarity in Semiconductor fundamentals Familiarity with Quality and reliability stress flow, JEDEC standard Proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Words, Power point) Strong problem solving and analytical thinking abilities Effective verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration and reporting Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to the work environment
