• The Supplier Quality Engineer is expected to accomplish this by driving supplier improvement efforts by partnering with Global Commodity Sourcing team.
• The Supplier Quality Engineer takes care of all supplier data including all elements of supplier surveillance, maintains the accuracy & completeness of the supplier quality database, maintains supplier metrics (i.e. the supplier scorecard)
• Supplier risk management, ensures there is proper alignment of supplier surveillance inspections between the sites and our suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Take ownership of supplier quality improvement and drive closure of quality improvement plan and activities.
  • Take ownership of supplier transition activities, make sure the transfer success, smooth and afterward production & quality consistent.
  • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, act as key contributor to Watts’s supplier quality management process.
  • Conducts supplier audits and, through the SCAR program, ensures the supplier implements and maintains any resulting corrective action program, and ensures timely closure of SCARs.
  • Audits and evaluates suppliers' internal processes to assess their overall compliance to the organization and regulatory requirements, including sub-suppliers, and provides feedback to sourcing team to improve their operation.
  • Develop supplier-related quality metrics for presentation to senior management during periodic reviews.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree, Engineering major is preferred

MANAGEMENT:

  • N/A

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10 years of Quality and Engineering experience, min. 5 years' experience as SQE, preferably in a foreign company/export/valve, automobile related field. Understanding of UL, NSF, WQA (Water Quality Association) would be preferred.
  • With solid experience with new project development / management and supplier audit, as well as excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English, local language is plus.
  • Familiar with the process of metal components, like forging, casting, machining, etc. Valve manufacture experience is preferred.
  • Skilled on audit, familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ESG, etc.
  • Good knowledge of quality tools, like APQP, PPAP, 8D, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill to interact with suppliers and cross functional team.
  • Willing to travel.
