Staff Writer, Asia

Fortune Media Company, publisher of Fortune magazine and the world-famous Fortune 500

and Global 500 rankings, seeks a staff writer to write breaking news and features on Asian

business, economics and business topics for Fortune.com.

The writer will be based in Hong Kong, report to Fortune’s Asia editor, and work closely with

editorial colleagues in the U.S. and Europe.

The writer will:

Cover the most important breaking news stories in Asia

Write deep dives into the trends driving Asian business, economics and technology

Profile the up-and-coming businesses and business leaders in the region

Build connections with leaders, experts and sources throughout the region

Support Fortune’s Asia-Pacific conferences by covering sessions and, where

appropriate, provide on-stage moderation

Talented candidates will also have opportunities to:

Take on editorial responsibilities, including assigning and line-editing, where

appropriate

Writer longer features, both online and for Fortune magazine

Fortune staff writers are renowned for deep knowledge of the subjects they cover, the

originality of their perspective, the sophistication of their narrative skills, and an ability to

gain access to key insights from business leaders and experts alike.

The company also prizes writers who can push the conversation forward with unique angles

on the biggest stories of the day, giving readers the context, analysis, and forward-thinking

they need as business leaders and experts.

Qualifications:

Has over five years of professional experience as a reporter and/or writer

Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese

Can write clearly in multiple formats

A clear grasp of business and tech trends in Asia

Knowledge of SEO, social media, and online publishing
