Job Description

  • Protect Visa from settlement losses by identifying, assessing, and mitigating credit risks across new and existing clients.
  • Enable Asia Pacific growth by partnering with business teams to support new licenses, program expansions, and incentive deal structures within risk appetite.
  • Provide decisive risk leadership by delivering clear credit recommendations during market or client stress events.
  • Strengthen enterprise decision‑making by advising cross‑functional stakeholders and coordinating global credit relationships.
  • Assess emerging and complex payment flows, including B2B and digital settlement models.
  • Improve risk discipline and transparency through robust due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and policy adherence.
  • Equip senior leaders with insight by delivering portfolio analytics, scenario and impact analysis, and management reporting.
  • Increase speed and efficiency by driving automation, process improvements, and faster credit decisioning for FinTechs.
  • Build organizational capability by providing training, collateral guidance, and support for strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure continuous risk oversight through daily prefund monitoring, periodic weekend coverage, and global coordination calls.

  • Collateral solutions to mitigate losses.
  • Support the key market initiatives.
  • Projects such as Artificial Intelligence workbench to effectively monitor credit risks and gain operational efficiency.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone that is flexible and independent with strong initiatives and tenacity to work through credit events, yet a good team player who is self-motivated and adept at working collaboratively with the rest of the team globally and regionally.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent and knowledge across Financial Institutions, Corporate and Fintechs. MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in managing credit risks of banks/non-bank financial institutions or corporates.
  • Experience at both understanding and managing quantitative credit rating models (Banks and Corporates).
  • Able to work in highly driven and dynamic environment and effectively managing tight deadlines to meet business expectations and projects.
  • Ability to clearly articulate results after analyzing large scales of data to senior management as the basis for making key credit decisions.
  • Good eye for details noting discrepant financial trends in data analytics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear and concise recommendations to management.
  • Visa or other payment industry knowledge a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

  • Proven track record and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
  • Innovative and creative thinker with a proven track record of delivery, ability to manage ad hoc projects when assigned concurrently and see them through from conception to conclusion.
  • Able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.  Additional language skills (e.g. Chinese, Japanese) will be added advantage but not necessary.
