Department Overview
The Motorola ODM Procurement organization is a vital part of our company which are responsible for the following:
Acquiring the goods and services it needs to operate effectively.
Identifying and selecting the best suppliers for the organizations needs.
Manage market research, evaluating potential vendors, and negotiating contracts.
Executing the purchase of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to contract terms.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring their
performance.
Ensuring compliance with quality and ethical standards.
Analyzing spending patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing the procurement process to maximize efficiency.
Identifying and mitigating potential risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions, price volatility, and supplier failures.
Job Description

The ODM Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the
organizations procurement activities. This includes developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing a team of procurement professionals, sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a proven track record of success in procurement.

Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations

  • Execution of the Global ODM Strategy

  • Handle ODM suppliers management, including suppliers relationships ownership

  • Conduct RFQ exercise, cost negotiations and project awards

  • Contract negotiations

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for escalation issues for internal operational teams

  • Continually pursuing cost efficiencies and achieving annual cost reduction  

  • Managing the company supply chain by sourcing, reviewing, and purchasing ODM solutions.

  • Updating inventory strategies where needed to increase sales and manage stock quantities.

  • Evaluating, selecting, and recommending new vendors to management.

  • Negotiating favorable prices and terms of purchase to maximize best sourcing practices.

  • Building and maintaining good relationships with suppliers and distributors.

  • Studying market trends and identifying any risks when sourcing and procuring commodities.

  • Ensuring that project-approved budgets are adhered to.

  • Supervising department personnel when they prepare contracts and purchase orders.

  • Resolving vendor disputes and any commodity-related issues.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain management, economics, or a similar field.

  • Extensive, proven experience in supply chain or commodity management.

  • Knowledge of contract law and regulations.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Solid knowledge of financial markets that influence commodity prices.

  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers.

  • Advanced analytical skills.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with personnel from various departments.
