GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly analytical and detail-focused process engineer who is passionate about continuous improvement and achieving operational excellence. They should have strong skills in process development to qualify new production processes and effectively diagnose the root causes of process or production challenges. The candidate should excel in collaborating across functions to conduct root cause analyses, implement sustainable corrective actions, and lead initiatives to enhance productivity.

Role Overview:

The Special Process Engineer (Brazing) is responsible for ensuring that braze and heat treatment processes meet quality requirements and operational objectives at GEAES Singapore. This will include:

  • Generating work instructions and operating procedures for furnaces and braze preparation and application.

  • Implementing new processes in collaboration with product engineers and repair development engineers.

  • Ensuring that all braze and heat treatment processes comply with quality requirements, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions as required.

  • Working with operations to improve furnace utilization and labour efficiency and reduce operating costs.

  • Working with operations and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Preparing technical specifications for the purchase and upgrading of braze and heat treatment equipment.

  • Conducting Risk Assessments and ensure that braze and heat treatment processes are operated in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations and Policies.

  • Conduct buy-off, machine qualification and process substantiation.

  • Training for special process technicians

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science

  • 2+ years’ experience in the aerospace, Brazing or materials processing industry

  • Good understanding of metallurgical and chemical processes used in the repair of aircraft engine components.

  • Good knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles

  • Highly adaptable in a fast-moving environment

  • Experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing/MRO environment would be an added advantage
