Purpose
Position Overview: PerkinElmer is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Sourcing Specialist. In this role, you will support current tactical and strategic workload to maintain, protect, optimize and growth of the top and bottom line for PerkinElmer. You will begin with administrative tasks: SAP tasks/update (PIR/SL update, DR for NPI, QIR review), excel tracking/price comparison, send RFQ/drawings download,etc & also support sourcing of parts including, but not limited to, pricing/contract negotiations and supports global commodity strategies.
You will also support open market sourcing for COTS parts to connect supply. The role can possibly extend into some less challenging suppliers’ management (bulk part replenishment, etc). The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in developing and managing supplier relationships
Responsibilities
- Sourcing Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with PerkinElmer's business objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supplier performance.
- Cost management: Lead and delivery cost improvement activities and ensure healthy cost optimization funnels.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and agreements. Manage contracts effectively to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Market Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements. Conduct regular analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including but not limited to R&D, Operations, and Finance, to understand their sourcing needs and align strategies accordingly.
- Supplier Diversity and Sustainability: Drive initiatives to enhance supplier diversity and sustainability, aligning with PerkinElmer's commitment to corporate responsibility.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing disruptions.
- Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor the effectiveness of sourcing strategies. Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a global organization.
- Proficiency with sourcing and procurement tools (e.g., SAP Ariba) and the MS Office Suite (advanced Excel skills).
