Job Description
As Solution Architect, you play a significant role in the design and delivery of automated material handling systems for our customers in the APAC region. You are responsible for translating customer requirements into a system design using Vanderlande standard modules. Interpreting customer requirements will require you to analyze tender documents and have meetings with clients and external stakeholders to understand their functional need. Your system design is used by internal disciplines to build and test the system. As Solution Architect, you are required to define interfaces between components where required.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Analyze stakeholder needs and user requirements, combining them with the technological requirements imposed by Vanderlande’s technology standards and reference architecture.
- Maintain relationships with our key accounts and consultants in the APAC region to advise them on technological developments.
- Able to pose the right technical questions to the stakeholders and to the engineering teams so the right investigations are executed.
- Translate process requirements into efficient system requirements.
- Design and document the system architecture including its key interface specifications and the requirements imposed on the various components.
- Design the necessary specifications and system elements for mapping logistics processes in UML 2.0
As Solution Architect you report to the Group Integration Manager APAC. Based on your field of interest there is opportunity to grow to a senior architect or manager role within the service or project execution department.
Your department
The APAC project integration department is part of the business unit Airport & Parcel Solutions within Vanderlande Industries. The department is responsible for system design, testing and integration of complex Airport and Parcel systems for customer in the Asia Pacific region like Changi, Hong Kong and Sydney airport and DHL, FedEx and UPS international customers. The department works in an international team setting with people from different countries with different cultural backgrounds.

- Successfully completed studies in logistics, computer science, automation technology or a comparable technical degree specializing in IT.
- Several years of professional experience in an automated logistics environment is desirable.
- Good knowledge in the areas of intralogistics and material flow in relation to material handling systems and processes and strong skills in visualizing and arguing delivery scopes.
- Experience with requirements management process and the creation of specifications, test concepts and the associated documents
- Experience with model based systems engineering and tools such as enterprise architect is preferred
- Basic experience in the field of software development, middleware, and IT Infrastructure.
