We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

• Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
• Understands internal standards & processes an applies them to make technical decisions
• Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
• May contribute to code & design reviews

As a Software Engineer at PayPal, you will participate in all phases of our software development lifecycle through implementation of technical designs, direct contributions to design decisions, influencing the technical direction of our client-side applications and strengthen our engineering culture with fresh perspectives. You will be responsible for developing industry-leading experiences that bring unquestionable value to both merchants and buyers. You will use your technical knowledge and understanding of the business domain to help us improve the scale, reliability, and performance of our platforms.
Your day-to-day:

• Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of features, projects, modules, and services that you deliver in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Actively participate in design discussions, advocating for best practices and innovative solutions.
• Assist in optimizing software performance and bug fixing, identifying and resolving bottlenecks via monitoring, logging, and metrics to enhance the user experience.
• Be a strong advocate for clean and scalable principles and practices in all areas, including coding, code reviews, documentation, automation, etc.
• Collaborate frequently with other developers and teams to design and implement cutting-edge reliable solutions
• Advocate for ways to avoid and remediate technical debt continuously.

What you need to bring:

• Strong Programming Skills in Java/TypeScript/Python/NodeJS and a willingness to explore new technologies.
• Good understanding of Databases, REST APIs and cloud platforms like AWS.
• Knowledge of modern software development practices, version control systems, and agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills, possessing the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to analyze and address complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail, as well as a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Knowledge of SDKs, Developer experience, APIs and Client libraries would be a plus
