Join the Consumer Experience Loyalty team at Grab - a dynamic team shaping the future of Grab Unlimited, our flagship membership program, across Southeast Asia. We are a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and product managers who improve and collaborate to enhance user engagement, transactions, retention and delight.

Get to Know the Role 

Reporting to a Software Engineering Manager, you will ensure high quality deliverables, spanning across multiple key services powering end to end-user journeys across all the different products of our superapp. These services are one of the top entry points for Grab services, with millions of visitors every day across 8 countries in total. We're looking for candidates who embody accountability, display a hunger for learning and improvement, excel in autonomy, and have the desire to go above and beyond expectations. This is a hybrid role based in Singapore

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design and write high quality and well tested code in RxJava, Kotlin.
• Collaborate with mobile and backend engineers, designers, data scientists and product managers to architect features
• Actively participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
• Brainstorm innovative ideas, identify problems, propose and implement solutions geared towards scale and performance
• Improve the codebase proactively. Propose and set better engineering solutions for the team.
• Be part of on-call rotation and support the Grab application, debug and troubleshoot production issues.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 2+ years of professional Android development experience
• Solid computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
• Experience in the delivery of an end-to-end feature
• Experience in mobile applications and global understanding of systems internals and tools like crash analytics, performance tools, debugging and continuous integration.
• Possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities with proven design skills, think critically of the current system in terms of maintainability and stability
• Clear understanding about the CI/CD implementation
• Accountable and takes ownership of one's own work.
