Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Frontend Engineer Intern to help build the next generation of user-facing interfaces for our Materials Science Al Agents. In this role, you will work at the intersection of sophisticated Al reasoning and scientific data visualization. You will implement and maintain modular fronted components that allow researchers to interact with complex formulation models and search agents, ensuring a responsive, high-quality, and scientifically intuitive user experience.

Responsibilities

Develop Web Interfaces: Implement new features and interactive UI in Vue.js that support streaming responses, thinking process visualization, and multi-turn agent dialogles.

Optimize Frontend Performance: Refine UI components, reduce load times, and ensure cross-browser compatibility.

Create modular frontend components that map to backend "Skills" and Search APIs, allowing users to trigger and monitor complex Al tasks.

Develop and refine UI components to display structured data extracted from patents, formulation blueprints, and mechanistic reasoning outputs.

Keep abreast of the latest Vue.js ecosystem updates and modern frontend patterns for Al-native applications (e.g., Vercel AI SDK,
    Model Context Protocol).

            Minimum Qualifications

    • Major in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
    • Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals.
    • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
    • Ability to produce maintainable code under the mentorship of senior engineers.

      Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Vuex (or Pinia) for state management, Webpack/Vite for builds, and UI component libraries (e.g., ElementUI, Vuetify).
    • Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills, comfortable working with designers, backend engineers, and product managers.
    • Familarity with vibe coding, e.g., Claude code.
    • Interested in AI Agent development.
