Thales Singapore Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established R&D and engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains ranging from mobile connectivity, IoT, banking & payment to government solutions.

Objective:

  • Explore open-source Generative AI stacks to build tools and functions for operational efficiency and enhanced customer engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development in open-source Generative AI frameworks, including Hugging Face, Ollama, LangChain, LangGraph – build sample PoC to inspire new ideas.
  • Develop and refine tools/functions that align with specific business unit use cases.
  • Explore and apply fine-tuning techniques to customize models for specific domain tasks, optimising their performance and relevance.
  • Collaborate closely with the supervisor, gaining insights into AI’s role in real-world business applications.

Requirements:

  • Education: Computer Science student with a good foundation in Data Science.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Python, Docker Compose, and basic Linux commands.
    • Familiarity with open-source frameworks and tools, including GitHub.
  • Traits:
    • Independent and analytical thinker.
    • Open-minded, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Commitment: Able to commit on a full-time basis, for ideally 6 months (or a minimum of 5 months) from May/June 2025 onwards

  • Hands-on experience in latest GenAI research and practical applications.
