As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking Technology - Equities Prime Synthetics Swaps team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
  • Design, implement or re-engineer components and features in the strategic swaps processing application that meet both business and architectural requirements
  • Follow test driven development and Agile methodologies
  • Take ownership of features from requirements through to production support
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Production Support, Swap traders, Product Development and Global Technology teams


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other related disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other related disciplines
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering applications including development, testing, and operational stability
  • Familiarity with multiple asset classes and Risk, P&L and product lifecycle
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s), preferably Java and Spring based development
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of Oracle (or any RDBMS), and ANSI SQL or Transact-SQL, SQL queries and Stored Procedures
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little oversight
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Hands on with full stack development practices such as test automation, automated deployments, and TDD and Agile methodologies


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Python, REACT, NoSQL DB (Cassandra or similar) and PaaS (Cloud Foundry or similar) development
  • Business knowledge in Securities Lending and Equity Finance, knowledge of Total Return Swaps
  • Willing to keep abreast, learn and apply new technologies
