About the Role
Join our dynamic Platform Engineering Group at Fivetran! We are seeking a talented engineer to join our core application platform team. In the next few years, you will focus on contributing to our vision of driving our 10x growth from 2,500+ customers to 25,000+ customers.
If you are passionate about creating and upholding the critical and fundamental services that power the core of data processing within our pipelines, then this opportunity is perfect for you.
As an engineer, you will work alongside a team to establish and uphold the central components of our data pipelines, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and scalable. Your contributions will support feature development, redesign, and on-call support in a highly proficient and effective manner. Finally, you will collaborate with various teams across the company, including engineering, product management, support, and sales, to successfully execute projects and tasks.
This is a full-time position based out of our Bangalore office.

What You’ll Do
- Write simple performant code
- Test and review code
- Take ownership in identifying implementation improvements and leverage your skills towards improving code quality continuously.
- Collaborate with peers, product managers, customer support, and other stakeholders to deliver the best product with high quality, performance, and scalability.
- Work across the project lifecycle: requirements, design, prototype, implementation, review, release, and monitoring
- Work with cross-functional teams (Developers, Product, SRE) across the organization
- Develop deep expertise in Fivetran's Product, Infrastructure, and Platform.
Skills We’re Looking For
- 2.5+ years of experience in the software industry with a passion for solving complex software engineering problems.
- Software engineering foundation - experience designing and developing reusable libraries and experimentation platforms for backend and frontend from scratch leveraging industry best practices.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with OOP, preferably Java.
- Hands-on experience working with any cloud technologies(AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization methodologies like Docker, K8s.
- Experience interacting with continuous integration tools like Buidkite.
- Knowledge of observability tools like New Relic/Grafana is a plus
- Knowledge of Data Engineering is a plus
