Our vision is to reinvent the arcade industry by creating an arcade experience ecosystem that consists of physical arcade games and location-based VR games and experiences, and other exciting arcade-based titles. LAI games is growing, and we want to expand our support to our customers by offering remote software management of our games, and we want to provide our customers with comprehensive use-data of our games.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer (Backend), your list of responsibilities includes:
- Develop Enterprise-grade APIs - write efficient, maintainable, and clean code following best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, ensuring scalability, maintainability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, product managers, QAs and other engineers to deliver high-impact features
- Take ownership of backend systems and be accountable for uptime, performance, and long-term maintainability
- Study, evaluate, understand, and provide feedback on functional specifications.
Identify areas for improvements to improve solution quality and development efficiency. - Conduct research and prototyping of software and protocols to inform technical decisions and drive innovation.
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate would have
• Minimum of two years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer or a Backend Engineer is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python with demonstrable experience in developing scalable applications.
• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining APIs, including strong knowledge of database schema design, caching strategies, and asynchronous job processing.
• Independent thinker and collaborator – You are capable in working independently while being able to accept feedback and work well in a team
• Analytical problem-solving skills – possesses skills to break down problems, identify root causes and developing scalable solutions. You’re resourceful when facing unknowns.
• Familiarity with using version control tools such as GitHub and GitLab.
• Strong familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB), including schema design, query optimization, and using an ORM.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and their practical application.
• Experience with authentication services such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT for implementing secure and seamless user authentication.
• Some working knowledge of React or similar frontend frameworks and proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Linux development environments
Additional Attributes:
- Experience with any cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in agile development teams.
Qualifications/Education
- Bachelor’s degree level in Computer Science or related fields, attained either by education or by experience.
