About Your Contributions:
Prototype and develop responsive and elegant cross-platform functionality on a custom server-side component framework, built on Java but leveraging SCSS, Freemarker templates, and ES6 on the front-end, with VueJS used for more interactive components.
Play a primary role in designing and constructing major application components.
Ensure high standards of quality by participating in code reviews, advocating for best practices within your team, and helping drive the identification of technical debt.
Monitor your applications’ web performance metrics and UX best practices to ensure they meet Dotdash Meredith’s high standards, and investigate issues that arise.
Work directly with the designers, QA, and product owner in a dedicated scrum team to fully realize the product vision.
Participate in a well-oiled 2-week sprint agile system to continuously add new features & functionality to the business.
About You:
3+ years building interactive web applications as a front-end or full-stack developer.
Demonstrated track record of technical proficiency with HTML, vanilla Javascript, CSS/SCSS and JS frameworks like VueJS, ideally with a portfolio and/or examples of work in Github.
Experience with Java is a plus, particularly in building and debugging server-side functionality within a Spring Boot environment.
Familiar with the tools of modern collaborative Agile+Scrum SDLC, including Git, Jira, planning poker, etc.
Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow as a developer.
Meticulous attention to detail. You rigorously check your own work for quality and precision, even before QA and stakeholder review.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field or foreign equivalent preferred.

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $105,000 - $125,000The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
