Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don’t do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas and expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.

As a Social Media Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and executing the social media strategy for a professional football club with ambitious global growth goals. You’ll work closely with leadership to drive audience growth, strengthen community engagement, and build a globally recognized digital brand across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong creative instincts with deep platform expertise and a proven ability to grow audiences organically. Rather than functioning as a content coordinator or scheduler, you’ll act as the strategic and executional owner of the club’s social presence—developing content strategies, producing engaging content, monitoring performance, and continuously identifying new opportunities to expand reach and engagement.

Accountability

Your success as a Social Media Manager will be defined by your ability to build audience growth, increase engagement, strengthen brand visibility, and create scalable social media systems that support long-term digital expansion.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Social Media Strategy & Audience Growth
  • Own and execute the club’s organic social media strategy across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube.
  • Develop and maintain content calendars aligned with match schedules, transfer windows, club announcements, sponsorship initiatives, and key campaigns.
  • Drive follower growth, engagement, impressions, and overall audience expansion.
  • Identify emerging platform opportunities, content formats, and growth strategies.
  • Translate business and brand objectives into high-performing social content initiatives.
Content Development & Creative Execution
  • Produce and publish high-volume, platform-native content across multiple social channels.
  • Repurpose content from club assets, media partners, creators, and user-generated content.
  • Create engaging short-form and long-form content optimized for each platform.
  • Independently edit video content and adapt creative assets for different audiences and formats.
  • Maintain consistency in visual identity, storytelling, and brand presentation.
Community Engagement & Fan Experience
  • Actively engage with supporters and followers across all major social platforms.
  • Monitor comments, direct messages, audience sentiment, and community conversations.
  • Foster meaningful engagement and strengthen relationships with supporters.
  • Escalate reputation risks, audience concerns, and important feedback appropriately.
  • Help build a highly engaged and globally connected football community.
Match Day Content & Live Coverage
  • Lead social media execution across match days throughout the season.
  • Publish real-time content including highlights, reactions, results updates, and behind-the-scenes coverage.
  • Coordinate with internal media teams and stakeholders to ensure timely content delivery.
  • Maintain high-quality engagement and storytelling during live sporting events.
  • Support the club’s digital presence during key moments throughout the football calendar.
Performance Reporting & Optimization
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics including reach, engagement, impressions, video views, and follower growth.
  • Produce regular performance reports and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify content gaps, growth opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Apply platform insights and audience data to optimize future content performance.
  • Continuously refine social media strategies based on evolving trends and results.

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.
