Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible for all 🌍.

Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? 💪 Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here).

Now, we’re on the lookout for a Social Media Manager, APAC (12-Month FTC) to help us bring that vision to even more travellers.

About the role

(Hybrid)

We’re on a mission to become the world’s number one travel ally and this is your chance to help us get there.

As a Social Media Manager for the APAC region, you will work closely with our Regional APAC team and Global Social & Community Leads. You will manage social media activities in our optimised APAC markets. Additionally, you will help launch new markets that fit our business needs.

You play a key role in growing our social media presence while actively engaging with travellers across multiple platforms. Community
engagement, creative content and third-party management come naturally to you. More importantly, you have a solid pulse on social - knowing what the latest trends are and translating them into ideas for Skyscanner.
This role is for someone who can connect with everything that’s happening across social, supercharge our brand’s social presence and works to drive measurable impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Regional APAC social activities and campaigns:  You’ll support the management of owned activities across multiple markets alongside any global or regional campaigns with the help of our external partners.
  • Launch and develop new markets: You will work closely with regional stakeholders, including the APAC creator manager. Your goal is to develop social launch plans for new APAC markets. This ensures that the content, community, and operations are prepared and aligned with business priorities.
  • Own social content & storytelling: You'll oversee the development of engaging, platform relevant content that resonates with our audience and is aligned to brand guidelines. You’ll also identify opportunities to localise global campaigns to cater to market-specific nuances.
  • Community management: You understand the importance of community engagement and can guide a team of external partners in responding to comments, messages as well as user-generated content.
  • New local platform research: You’ll monitor for emerging social platforms within the region to identify opportunities to deepen social footprint in markets. You’ll conduct the right analysis to ascertain launch feasibility and impact.
  • Spotting trends: You’ll be able to identify the right cultural moments and social media trends. You’ll work with external partners to develop timely content or community management tactics that land with meaning and momentum.
  • Optimising performance: You’ll use analytics platforms, such as insights tools, to track performance and translating these insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Third-party management: You'll be managing and working closely with external partners across the various markets to ensure smooth delivery on owned activities.
  • Regional planning support: You'll assist our regional and global leads on planning, reporting and budget processes where needed to ensure smooth delivery across owned activities.
  • Team coordination: You’ll support our regional team in ensuring contracts and invoices for external partners are processed on time. You’ll also support the management of our regional freelancer tooling platforms (such as UGC collection and moderation).

About you

  • Social media expert: You live and breathe social. You know that there’s no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to storytelling on different platforms. You’ve had some regional experience in APAC (including Malaysia, Taiwan & Australia) and understand how each market differs.
  • Creative storyteller: You have the creative mind to transform data, trends and product stories into engaging and shareable content that will resonate with local audiences.
  • Trend spotter: You’re deeply connected to internet trends and know how to identify which ones are worth acting on.
  • Platform native: You understand the nuances across key platforms in APAC, how audiences behave on each and have a good sense of how algorithms work. You are also endlessly curious about what’s next and on the lookout for emerging platforms to test for opportunities.
  • Cross-functional connector: You’re confident working with agencies and freelancers - giving thoughtful feedback and promoting for best-in-class creatives while staying true to what we are as a brand.
  • Comms expert: You keep freelancers, agencies as well as internal stakeholders aligned and informed about ongoing activities. You're able to communicate timelines, to-do lists and the tiny details that keep everything running like clockwork.
  • Data-informed: You’re confident using social analytics to understand performance, uncover insights and using it to improve content strategies.
  • Project manager: You have robust project management skills and can balance multiple markets/deadlines all at once while also being flexible to adapt to changing priorities. Being organised is one of your greatest strengths, and you're able to keep multiple work-streams transitioning along while never losing sight of the details.
