Role Overview:
The Tax Analyst will be responsible for supporting tax compliance and reporting activities for Applied Materials’ Singapore entities. This role involves managing GST filings, monitoring tax incentive conditions, performing detailed reconciliations, and assisting with various tax-related projects. The ideal candidate is analytical, meticulous, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- GST Compliance: Prepare and file group GST returns for Singapore entities accurately and on time.
- Tax Incentives: Track and monitor compliance with tax incentive conditions.
- Data Analysis & Reconciliation:
- Compile data from multiple sources, including SAP and GL details.
- Investigate discrepancies and validate against source documents.
- Perform reconciliations, including tax account GL reconciliation, for accurate tax reporting.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Support other tax-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Taxation, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in Accounting or Tax.
- Familiarity with SAP is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in performing reconciliations.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across functions.
