About the role:

IIX is seeking a highly motivated, visionary, and execution-driven Senior Vice President to lead our Marketing & Communications function. As a strategic leader, you will own outcomes end-to-end, hold yourself and your team accountable for high-performance delivery, and champion IIX’s mission through ethical storytelling, disciplined planning, and impactful execution.

The SVP, Marketing & Communications serves as a key architect of IIX’s global brand—driving integrated marketing strategies, shaping compelling narratives, and positioning IIX and its leadership as authoritative voices in impact investing, sustainable finance, gender equality, and climate resilience.

The ideal candidate is a strong project manager and content strategist with the ability to translate complex impact themes into accessible, engaging, and influential communications. A passion for gender and climate initiatives is essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned with IIX's mission, values, and growth objectives.
    • Lead and inspire a diverse marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
    • Drive brand development initiatives to enhance IIX's reputation as a global leader in impact investing and sustainable finance.
    • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies across channels (digital, content, events, partnerships) to strengthen IIX’s global brand and influence.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as a primary liaison with senior management, providing strategic insights and recommendations to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including investors, partners, media, and industry influencers to amplify IIX’s impact and thought leadership.
    • Manage marketing budgets and external partners with strong financial discipline and responsibility.
  3. Events Management:
    • Oversee the planning, executing, and evaluating strategic events, conferences, webinars, and thought leadership forums.
    • Drive and provide direct oversight of events related to IIX Global and the Orange Movement, ensuring alignment with gender-lens impact objectives, stakeholder engagement targets, and overall brand positioning.
    • Ensure events achieve measurable outcomes in visibility, influence, and partnership development.
  4. Social Media & Executive Thought Leadership Management 
    • Strategic and narrative focused thought Leadership & social orchestration to define and drive the digital presence of the C-suite to position IIX leadership as authoritative voices in global impact investing and sustainable finance through various social media platforms
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media roadmap for the leadership team ensuring a consistent and impactful cadence of updates. You will be responsible for ghostwriting insightful commentary, managing high-level community interactions, and leveraging executive reach to drive traffic toward IIX’s core initiatives and reports.

  1. Leadership & Team Management:
    • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing marketing teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Clear goal-setting and accountability frameworks: Sets measurable targets for the team and holds themselves accountable first.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate team members towards achieving strategic goals and organizational success.
  2. Strategic Thinking & Planning:
    • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute integrated marketing and communications plans that align with business objectives and market trends.
    • Experience in setting and managing budgets, forecasting resource needs, and optimizing marketing spend for maximum ROI.
    • End-to-end ownership of the marketing agenda, from strategy and positioning to execution, measurement, and optimisation.
    • Data-driven decision-making to use insights, KPIs, and ROI metrics to guide priorities, not just intuition.
  3. Event Management Expertise:
    • Demonstrated success in planning and executing events of all sizes, from concept to post-event analysis, with a focus on attendee engagement and impact measurement.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  4. Media Relations:
    • Thinks beyond campaigns to reputation, trust, and legacy.
    • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives and communications materials that resonate with diverse stakeholders.
  5. Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to internal and external audiences.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, including senior executives, partners, and media contacts.
  6. Experience Level 
  • Minimum requirement of 15+ years of experience in marketing 
  • The candidate must demonstrate at least 5+ years specifically in management or head capacity, overseeing diverse teams and multi-country marketing activities
