About the Role

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of supplier capability, product development, and manufacturing excellence—ensuring our supplier partners are ready to support both current and future business needs.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in cross‑functional environments, enjoys influencing suppliers and internal stakeholders, and wants to drive meaningful impact across product launches and category capability development.

Let's Talk About Responsibilities:

As a key contributor within the Supplier Engineering specialization, you will work closely with GSA Category teams, NPI teams, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality Assurance to ensure supplier readiness and successful product delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

Supplier Capability Development

  • Lead and drive structured processes to assess and enhance supplier capabilities across:

    • Manufacturing technology

    • Process innovation

    • Digitization and automation

    • Project delivery excellence

    • Collaboration and maturity models

  • Translate supplier insights into actionable recommendations for product development and category strategies.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Product Support

  • Support prototyping, verification, and feasibility assessments to evaluate design suitability for manufacturing.

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust supplier integration during product launches.

  • Assist in the development, execution, and testing of new and existing products.

Manufacturing & Process Engineering Excellence

  • Apply advanced manufacturing engineering knowledge to develop and implement processes, equipment, facilities, and documentation.

  • Ensure all solutions meet production volume, quality, cost, and occupational health & safety (OHS) requirements.

Leadership & Influence

  • Lead sub‑functional teams and supplier‑related projects from concept to execution.

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, acting as a subject‑matter expert and best‑practice resource.

  • Build strong networks internally and externally to influence outcomes and accelerate results.

Strategic Contribution

  • Leverage technical expertise and supplier relationships to contribute to broader business and category strategies.

  • Provide guidance and direction in your primary area of expertise, particularly in complex or ambiguous situations.

Let’s Talk About Qualifications & Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.

  • Strong foundation in manufacturing processes, quality systems, and product development lifecycle.

  • Proven ability to apply engineering methodologies to solve complex technical and business problems.

  • Demonstrated judgment in selecting methods, tools, and evaluation criteria for new or unfamiliar challenges.

Preferred

  • Experience working with global suppliers and cross‑regional teams within highly regulated environments, ideally in the medical device industry.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, while thriving in collaborative environments.

  • Passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and developing others.
