Mission

The Strategic Operations Manager ensures the effective execution of business priorities by embedding operational discipline, optimizing processes, and aligning cross-functional teams. This role acts as a critical bridge between strategy and execution, reinforcing the business operating system, improving decision-making, and ensuring teams work efficiently toward strategic objectives.

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, it represents an exciting opportunity where success is central to the effectiveness of the MoneySmart Operating System in driving performance and outcomes of the business.

Responsibilities

Launches and embeds the Business Operating System

  • Supports the development and roll-out of agreed tools and ways of working to elevate MoneySmart’s effectiveness
  • Ensures understanding and adherence to agreed ways of working through training, coaching, encouragement, and enforcement

Improving Execution of Strategic Priorities

  • Helps business leaders in translating priorities and goals into clear, actionable plans that teams understand
  • Unblocks progress by sharing information, surfacing problems, and channeling information effectively to where it is needed
  • Key initiatives progress smoothly with minimal blockers, and leadership maintains visibility on execution (both successes and failures)

Operational Process Improvement

  • Processes are refined and optimised, improving productivity and bandwidth
  • Changes are embedded successfully and productivity improvements maintained

Stakeholder Alignment & Communication

  • Leadership and teams maintain clarity on priorities and expected outcomes
  • Cross-functional collaboration is enhanced through agreed frameworks for evaluating, monitoring and decision making
  • A culture of transparency is developed and nurtured

Project & Initiative Management

  • Key business projects are executed with structured support, ensuring they are delivered effectively
  • Risks, dependencies, and roadblocks are proactively identified and managed
  • Deliverables meet high standards of quality and alignment with strategic objectives

Reinforcement of Business Operating System

  • The business operating system functions effectively, with structured processes embedded in daily operations
  • Teams adhere to agreed ways of working, reducing friction and increasing alignment
  • Execution remains aligned with the company’s strategic objectives

  • Strategic Execution: Ability to convert high-level priorities into clear, executable plans
  • Process Thinking: Can identify inefficiencies and can implement sustainable and scalable ways of working
  • Stakeholder Management: Works effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive alignment with all levels of seniority
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Uses data-driven insights to reinforce learning, improve decision making and challenge others effectively
  • Project & Change Management: Can support structuring execution and guiding others on best practices relating to generating lasting change for the better

Requirements

  • Experience working in strategy, operations, or business management in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in process improvement, project management, and stakeholder alignment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to drive execution at scale
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
