Core Engineers at Dexterity design and improve core trading infrastructure across systems that power global trading. A typical day involves architecting a new market data storage format, implementing upgrades to the strategy messaging protocol, or optimizing a zero copy websocket frame handling protocol. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a range of developers across the firm who write trading algorithms, monitor live strategies, build and maintain a world-class research environment, and more!

We are looking for exceptional engineers who love to code and solve complex problems, collaborate with high-performing teams, and excel in a competitive environment.

At Dexterity you will have the opportunity to continue to learn and develop deep knowledge of algorithms, OS internals, CPU architecture,  as well as networking hardware and protocols. This is a full time, in person position at our San Francisco office.

Profile

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience in a relevant industry
  • 2+ years of professional C++ or Java experience
  • Knowledge of UNIX operating systems (we use Linux), system/processor performance, and network communication
  • You are an effective team player, able to challenge assumptions and build consensus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Developing and optimizing highly scalable trading infrastructure
  • Participating in all phases of the development of our trading and simulation engines
  • Building new exchange integrations
  • Optimizing market data collection
  • Upgrading inter-region networking infrastructure
  • Minimizing latencies

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $300,000 to $350,000
  • Participation in company bonus pool
