Responsibilities:

Setting the credit risk policy and procedures for the Bank’s SME products, working with the business functions to devise prudent products and test programs, and managing the portfolio monitoring and reporting. 

Monitor new business as well as the existing portfolio, to identify new and emerging risks. Develop metrics and reporting dashboards for leadership.  Develop risk matrics to monitor individual /portfolio credit quality.  

Data mine Ecosystem data pools as well as Alt data flows from external data providers to set up forward-looking indicators  to identify opportunities and predict destress. 

Delivering superior financial performance while minimizing potential losses

Develop and maintain the credit risk policies and procedures for the SME portfolio

Work with the SME Credit and Collections teams to gather insights to improve the credit risk policies and underwriting rules / models

Work with analytics personnel to help devise underwriting rules / models

Help optimise NPL rate / approval rate / cost to acquire / customer experience trade-off

Conduct any independent or thematic review as required. 

Partner with product teams and business to coordinate Collection’s activities across the bank.

Define and monitor key activities related to SME credit risk management and monitoring

Assist in regulatory and business stress tests on an ongoing basis.

Keep abreast of the regulatory landscape in Singapore particularly on economic outcomes, global economic impacts and regulatory changes related to financial institutions.  

Participate in Risk Management working group and committee forums as required.

Work with the Data Engineering team to design and implement appropriate data infrastructure to support the monitoring and analytics for SME  credit portfolio.

Collaborate with cross functional groups to execute upon the deliverables and serve as a thought leader on critical initiatives related to credit risk management.

Conduct training activities to promote the understanding of credit risk management requirements, working mechanics and risk/ control awareness.  

Benchmark against best practices and industry standards

Requirements:

7+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or better (preferably in a quantitative field)

Good understanding of SME products preferably in the digital banking space.  Familiar with modern and emerging technology techniques and an interest to stay abreast of industry developments (e.g. credit decision engines, analytical tools and techniques, ).

Experience in implementing the three lines of defense concepts and its application related to Corporate credit policy and portfolio management

Experience with risk identification, assessment, and mitigation of material risk

Experience with risk models, Scorecards  and related governance process

Experience with risk models and ideally ML / Artificial intelligence models

Possess strong influencing, communication, and presentation skills. 

Familiarity with MAS regulations. Experience in working with Regulators in key ASEAN markets with Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia of specific interest.  

Able to plan and coordinate effectively and manage expectations to achieve the expected results.

Ability to construct and deliver clear presentations to senior company executives

Well-developed communication skills to interact with broad ranges of audiences

Ability to look beyond individual issues to identify broader themes with wider-reaching impact

Superb presentation and communication skills

Experience in project managing complex, cross-functional projects
