SOCi, the CoMarketing Cloud for Multi-Location Enterprises, is currently looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join the team. The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a critical role in the Revenue Accounting team, overseeing and working with all aspects related to revenue recognition, reporting, and compliance. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, particularly those related to SaaS or subscription-based revenue models. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to maintaining accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting.
SOCi expects to pay a base salary in the range of $74,000 to $114,000 CAD plus bonuses. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Oversee the monthly revenue recognition process in compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606).
- Work closely with the Billing, Sales and Operations teams to review and analyze contracts, ensuring that revenue is recognized accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliations for all revenue-related accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, focusing on revenue insights and trends.
- Implement and maintain internal controls related to the revenue process.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue.
- Participate in the ongoing optimization of revenue accounting systems and processes to support the company's growth and scale efficiently.
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting activities from a revenue perspective.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
What You’ll Need to be Successful
- Hybrid Opportunity: This role is fully remote until our Vancouver, BC office is established. Once the office is in place, it will transition to a hybrid model, with a 50/50 split between remote and in-office work.
- Must Have:
- 5+ years of relevant revenue accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a SaaS or subscription-based business model.
- Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition standards, specifically ASC 606.
- Experience with financial systems and accounting software, with a preference for candidates who have worked with ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working cross-functionally and with senior management.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or close to completing a CPA is preferred.
