Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join our team in Singapore, Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for M&E projects
  • Analyze and evaluate tenders, providing recommendations to the project team
  • Conduct cost planning, value engineering, and life cycle costing for M&E systems
  • Manage contract administration, including change orders, variations, and claims
  • Perform regular cost monitoring and reporting, identifying potential cost overruns
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to optimize project costs
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and final accounts for M&E projects
  • Implement and maintain cost control systems and procedures
  • Provide expert advice on M&E systems and components to the project team
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and sustainable building practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, or a related field
  • Professional membership in a recognized quantity surveying institution (e.g., RICS)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in M&E quantity surveying
  • Proven experience in large-scale commercial or industrial projects
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Causeway)
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems, components, and installation processes
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Advanced contract management and negotiation skills
  • In-depth understanding of local building codes and regulations in Singapore
  • Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green technologies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
