As a Senior Principal Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms, you apply your deep engineering knowledge of software, applications, technical systems, and technical processes across multiple specialized disciplines to build and deliver trusted secure, stable, and scalable technical solutions. Consistently drive adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields or areas in line with product development methodologies.
Job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior technology and business stakeholders to understand requirements and engineer solutions
  • Apply technical expertise to large scope projects with enterprise-wide impact (e.g., infrastructure technology, architecture design, and performance monitoring) to influence, manage and implement strategic desktop platforms
  • Collaborates to drive positive, lasting organizational, operational, and technological change
  • Partners across other platforms to architect and implement changes required to deliver products and resolve challenges
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technologists
  • Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
  • 10 years+ experience in an Infrastructure Engineering Management role
  • Expert knowledge of managing the Windows operating system in a large enterprise
  • Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud and on-premise Windows virtual desktop environments.
  • Expertise in Windows authentication protocols, Azure RBAC, network topologies, security principles, firewalls and technical problem solving.
  • Passionate and Energetic Technology Leader / Problem solver.
  • Thrives on innovation, solid engineering practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to uncover business challenges and develop solutions to solve them
  • Knowledge of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud technologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders, application developers and systems technology experts.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts across disparate groups.
  • Ability to work well at a conceptual level, and to drive concepts out into workable solutions.
  • Ability to define target state architectures, and develop transition plans for achieving target state.
