WHAT YOU’LL DO
The People Relations team aligns Braze’s business objectives with our most valuable asset — our people. Day to day, we work collaboratively with leaders to help them meet their goals while focusing on fostering an inclusive, development-focused, and rewarding employee experience. As strategic partners, we ensure employees are supported throughout their journey at Braze, while helping the business operate effectively and compliantly as we scale.
As the Senior People Business Partner for APAC, you’ll provide hands-on, end-to-end strategic and tactical HR support to people leaders, employees, and regional business functions — acting both as an employee advocate and trusted advisor to leadership. This role requires someone who is not only comfortable with big-picture thinking and strategic partnering, but also willing to roll up their sleeves to manage day-to-day transactional work that comes with supporting a growing footprint across Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, and Dubai.
This is a hybrid-flexible role based in our Singapore office, with significant opportunity to shape how Braze supports its growing APAC workforce.
Specifically, you will:
- Deliver full-spectrum People Business Partner support to business leaders and employees, from strategic counsel to hands-on, transactional work like drafting employee letters, updating records, supporting mobility processes, and facilitating onboarding and offboarding.
- Partner closely with leaders to design and execute talent planning, including identifying high-potential talent, leadership development, succession planning, and workforce planning.
- Advise and coach employees across all levels on career development, performance management, workplace challenges, and conflict resolution.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to people managers, providing guidance on managing teams effectively, fostering inclusion, driving engagement, and navigating sensitive matters such as performance issues or organizational change.
- Act as a regional employee advocate, ensuring employee voices are heard and championed while balancing business needs and compliance considerations.
- Own and enhance core HR processes for the APAC region — ensuring these processes are effective, compliant, and scalable as Braze grows.
- Lead or contribute to regional and global initiatives, including expansion projects into new locations, ensuring people-related processes and policies are localized appropriately while staying aligned with Braze’s global people strategy.
- Proactively identify trends through data analysis (attrition, engagement, etc.) and partner with leadership to develop appropriate interventions and action plans.
- Mentor and develop more junior teammates, offering coaching, guidance, and opportunities for growth.
WHO YOU ARE
You’re an experienced People Business Partner who’s excited to play a key role in evolving the PBP function to meet the needs of a scaling, global business. You are equally comfortable advising senior leaders on organizational strategy as you are getting your hands dirty with transactional work to support day-to-day people processes across multiple countries. You thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and enjoy solving both immediate employee needs and longer-term structural challenges.
Specifically, you have:
- 5+ years of HR Business Partner experience, with a preference for experience in SaaS/technology environments and working with regional and/or global teams.
- Strong working knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and employee relations in Singapore, and ideally experience supporting Indonesia, South Korea, or other APAC markets.
- A can-do mindset and comfort balancing strategic partnership with hands-on, tactical execution, never shying away from rolling up your sleeves to get things done, particularly in a high-growth environment where processes are evolving.
- Proven ability to build and improve core HR processes to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message for audiences ranging from frontline employees to senior leaders.
- Impeccable judgment and discretion when managing sensitive matters.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across functions and geographies.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands.
- Experience supporting new market entry and setting up foundational people processes in emerging locations is highly desirable.
