Your future position


Kpler is looking for an experienced Analyst within our Market Data Operations team based in Singapore. The role will involve ensuring a high level of data quality through collection, processing and analysis of data related to LPG, ethane and olefins. You will be required to follow the main events and track the trends occurring in these markets. In addition, you will be working on various projects to develop new features and further improve Kpler's data quality. This will include day-to-day collaboration with teammates from various departments and offices globally. The successful candidate will be working as part of a growing Downstream team and will be responsible for middle management for petrochemical analysts sitting in US and Singapore and help solidify Kpler 's petrochemical packaging.

Your mission is to:

  • Own daily checks of Kpler data to ensure the reliability and accuracy of global seaborne flows, supply & demand
  • Prepare written correspondence and engage directly with clients to present analysis
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Product team to propose new sources to extract data automatically and make improvements to our data processing (business rules and algorithms)
  • Create systematic, automated processes and tools that allow the team to scale and rapidly onboard new datasets
  • Monitor market news and developments, extract meaningful patterns and detect new trends
  • Provide market-informed feedback and strategic guidance to engineers, driving the development of innovative product features and enhancements
  • Aid sales and customer success teams by articulating the value of Kpler data to clients, prospects, and other external parties

It will be a match if you are or have:

  • You have at least 4-5 years of experience as an LPG or Petchems analyst (team lead/management experience is a plus)
  • You have experience working with large, disparate and unstructured data sets - advanced Excel skills (Python & SQL experience would be a plus)
  • Strong capabilities in logical thinking with attention to detail
  • You have excellent analytical ability, are at ease with working with databases, and have the ability to highlight trends and use complex data to support decisions
  • You show a willingness to learn, are a team player, a quick learner, and can work within short deadlines across multiple tasks
  • You have the ability to work and communicate in an international cross-cultural environment, with a strong focus on providing solutions
  • Eager to work in a fast paced environment with autonomy and ownership
