The Senior Networking and Identity Access Management (IAM) Engineer is responsible for working with both internal and external customers to ensure the functional usage of the Workiva platform from an authentication and networking perspective and requires a customer first attitude with the passion for enthusing our customer base. The role requires strong subject-matter expertise and a deep, rooted understanding of our technical stack to enable both reactive and proactive support, particularly in the areas of solution engineering and enabling resilience against performance and latency issues through trend analysis and implementation of best practices.
What You’ll Do
Own and deliver high-quality authentication and access management support services to our internal and external customer base
Lead by example as a true mentor to entry level engineers, setting the gold standard for IAM Engineer performance, through strong technical capabilities and exemplary individual contributions
Lead complex technical escalations from several channels in the area of Identity and Access Management where required
Work to limit and mitigate symptoms of authentication and authorization issues through both proactive and reactive troubleshooting and solution delivery efforts
Train, onboard, and develop Support new-hires in the areas of Identity and Access Management and Networking.
Deliver exceptional levels of support that may span across the broader Product Support team
Serve as a technical conduit between Workiva SME groups and Support Leadership in issue solution and request progression
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, in alignment with the departmental vision
Own, create and maintain technical process documentation in accordance with Workiva and industry best practices
Lead swarms with the team to provide on-the-spot coaching where required, and organize and lead daily sync sessions
Provide data-driven targeted delivery of training & enablement to the Global Support teams where required
What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years of related career experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) support within a technology organization
Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in a related role
Preferred Qualifications:
Authentication and security related certifications such as CIAM, Security+, CISSP, CISM, Okta Certified Professional, etc.
Experience with AWS, Azure (Entra ID), GCP, Sailpoint, Ping Identity etc.
Experience troubleshooting and managing proxies and cloud security solutions such as Zscaler and NetSkope
In-depth experience with networking devices such as firewalls, switches, and fabric interconnects
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols, network diagnostic tools, and access control models
Prior knowledge and understanding of common information security management frameworks
In-depth experience with defining secure and hardened information technology solutions, including IAM services
Hands-on experience with modern and enterprise authentication patterns and platforms
Strong Acumen with SAML & SCIM protocols to successfully integrate SSO and automate user provisioning in the Workiva platform with IdPs
Ability to interpret high level design documentation when troubleshooting latency to be able to isolate issues according to network blueprints aligned with business requirements
Experience and knowledge in diverse cloud security solutions
Project management framework knowledge and experience leading small to medium sized projects from idea to implementation
Strong technical capacity/attention to detail
High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity where required
Deep-rooted understanding of networking operating systems
Experience mentoring a small team of entry-mid level engineers
Proven change management skills; an ambassador for change with a focus on delivering results
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
Must be available to work Sunday through Friday from 11pm - 8am CST after initial training period
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a company office
Occasional requirement for travel for customer and internal meetings
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $74,000.00 - $118,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
