Our Global Products Solution (GPS) Technology department support the Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) businesses, and we are seeking an experienced system engineer to join our team in Singapore. The team interacts directly with business owners to design, implement and support innovative solutions in an agile environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our trading and risk management platforms, with a focus on Murex Front to Risk and interconnected margin collateral management systems.
As a highly motivated and experienced senior Murex developer, you are to take ownership and maintain our systems and applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, system administration, and technical support, with a focus on Murex 3.1 and related technologies. KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Management
Actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning processes within GPS
Environment and configuration management of Murex applications/FICC modules and Java applications
Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for internal and external supported software, with a focus on Unix (Linux), SQL and XML languages
Configuration and scripting around Murex offerings to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance
Design, build, test and deploy new tools, services, dashboards to enhance our platform
Supervise and ensure that business-critical services/features are available and properly running in production, with a focus on high availability and minimal downtime
Schedule and troubleshoot End-of-Day (EOD) processes to ensure timely and accurate completion
Participate in on-call duty for production support, providing prompt and effective resolution to issues and minimizing impact on business operations
Availability for production deployments one weekend per month
Change Management
Setup new tools, metrics to monitor and optimize applications performance to meet evolving business needs
Continuously drive and improve the platform, identifying areas for optimization and implementing changes to increase efficiency and reduce risk
Support change management and release rollout planning
Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management
Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Professional and Technical
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, system administration, or technical support, with a focus on Murex trading applications and platforms
- Knowledge of Murex MXML Exchange workflows design and implementation
- Knowledge of Murex reporting Datamart or other Murex components
- Java development experience
- Experience with messaging systems (e.g. MQ, Kafka)
- Experience with database/SQL-related queries (Oracle, Sybase)
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Bitbucket, GitLab, etc.)
- Environment management experience with strong expertise of Linux operating systems and bash scripting would be advantageous
Personal and Social
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Financial engineering or programming qualification is desirable
- Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work autonomously in a global team setup to take on initiative with a positive attitude
- Solution orientated and able to work in an agile setup
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines
