The luxury retail environment in Southeast Asia has been rapidly evolving, reflecting the region's economic ascent and cultural vibrancy. As we look ahead, this market is set to continue its transformation in the years to come. As the Senior Market Intelligence Manager, SEAA, you will play a crucial role in developing a comprehensive understanding of the market landscape, delivering actionable intelligence that supports strategic decision-making. Collaborating with local, regional, and global teams, you will contribute to an interconnected market intelligence community that underpins business growth.

In this role, you will manage the market intelligence practice for SEAA and collaborate with market, region, and global intelligence communities as a complementary ecosystem.

  • Market Intelligence Leadership:

    • Manage and execute market intelligence projects for the SEAA region, with a focus on critical areas such as addressable market opportunity sizing and forecasting.

  • Trend Identification and Business Implication:

    • Identify, analyze, and report key market trends, including economic, cultural, social, industry, and category developments- ultimately evaluating impact on industry & business.

  • Competitor Intelligence:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive competitor intelligence strategy to monitor and evaluate competitor activities, providing actionable insights to maintain a competitive edge in the SEAA region.

  • Strategic Alignment:

    • Bridge external market intelligence insights with internal knowledge sources to ensure cohesive, informed, and data-driven strategic decision-making across the organization.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, to integrate market intelligence findings into business strategies, while addressing regulatory, tax, and risk considerations.

  • Insight & Foresight Teams Collaboration:

    • Partner with North Asia and Global Insight & Foresight teams to create synergies, share best practices, and foster mutual learning in market intelligence mechanisms.

  • Expertise in Emerging Business Models:

    • Maintain a deep understanding of emerging business models and new forms of competition, ensuring the organization remains informed and adaptive.

  • Proactive Market Adaptation:

    • Continuously refine market intelligence processes and methodologies to anticipate market shifts, identify early signals of change, and communicate them effectively across the organization.

  • Industry, Economy, and Geopolitics Expertise: proficient in analyzing economic indicators such as GDP and inflation to effectively interpret trends and forecast their impact on business.

  • Influential communication and strong writing skills: ability to convey learnings in an impactful way through presentations, newsletters and talking points for SEAA President.

  • Business Models expertise: strong ability to ability to analyze and evaluate various business models, understanding their components, strengths, and weaknesses, and applying this knowledge to assess market opportunities and competitive positioning.

  • Quantitative Analytical and Modelling Skills: exceptional analytical process, with an ability to dissect complex data sets and extract meaningful patterns. Proficiency in Market Sizing and Growth Forecasts methodologies.

  • Strategic Acumen: a proven track record in market intelligence; a sharp analytical mind capable of identifying and capitalising on market opportunities for transformative growth.

  • Self-Starter with Creative Problem-Solving Skills: a proactive self-starter with a creative mindset, not confined by traditional approaches, adept at devising innovative solutions that bypass obstacles and limitations.
