- Be a subject matter expert for indirect tax (global VAT/GST,DSTs, including crypto specific indirect taxes) and provide clear, timely and comprehensive indirect tax guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Partner with finance teams in oversight of indirect tax compliance globally to ensure proper collection and reporting of indirect taxes.
- Support finance teams in liaising with tax authorities and tax consultants globally on indirect tax matters, and manage indirect tax controversy.
- Monitor new indirect tax legislation and policy (including crypto-related), evaluate its implication to the group, and brief the tax team and wider business as appropriate
- Be proactive in identifying indirect tax risks/ opportunities and develop actionable strategies.
- Drive indirect tax projects, implement best-in-class tax processes and designing SOPs to ensure alignment with current best practice
- Work with relevant stakeholders to implement and maintain tax determination engines and automation tools for key tax compliance reporting (indirect tax returns, CbCR, Pillar 2)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics or Taxation
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in indirect tax, preferably within a multinational organization and/or Big 4
- Technically strong with solid knowledge and experience in indirect tax law and regulations in EMEA and globally
- Experience with indirect tax compliance in digital or financial services; crypto/fintech exposure is a strong plus
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment
- Be proactive and able to perform well independently
- Must demonstrate willingness to be hands-on and work in a team-based environment
- Proficiency in English as a working language and fluency in Mandarin, in order to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
