About this Role

The Netflix Global Affairs team is a group of highly talented and experienced individuals who work closely with their business counterparts to advance the company's strategic goals. The team is perceived within the Company as solutions-oriented and part of the Company's business team.

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Global Affairs to serve as a senior member of Netflix’s government relations team in SEA. This role will act as the deputy to the Director, supporting and helping drive our public policy strategy across the region - with particular focus on Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The Senior Manager will play a key role in shaping an enabling regulatory environment for Netflix and the broader creative and digital economy in SEA. The position is based in Singapore and requires frequent travel within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior government officials, regulators, legislators, industry partners, and civil society stakeholders across Southeast Asia, while contributing to the development of the SEA Global Affairs strategy.

  • Support and help lead the regional global affairs strategy, serving as a senior external representative where appropriate

  • Raise awareness of Netflix’s economic, cultural, and creative contributions across SEA

  • Protect artistic expression and advocate for policies that uphold freedom of expression

  • Safeguard Netflix’s business model and ability to innovate amid evolving regulatory frameworks

  • Monitor, analyze, and shape policy developments on online safety, content regulation, age assurance, platform accountability, and child protection.

  • Provide strategic counsel on cultural and audiovisual regulations, including film laws, content classification, content moderation frameworks, as well as ICT policies such as privacy, data protection, cross-border data transfers, and other emerging digital regulations affecting Netflix operations in SEA

  • Engage on emerging issues, including artificial intelligence, competition policy, and digital taxation

  • Provide strategic political counsel to internal stakeholders on regulatory, legislative, and geopolitical developments

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will bring 10-15+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, or regulatory affairs, gained in a corporation, government institution, trade association, or similar environment.

They will demonstrate:

  • Strong experience engaging with senior policymakers, regulators, and industry partners

  • A deep understanding of the internet, technology, and digital platform policy issues in SEA

  • Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and high-stakes policy discussions

  • Experience working within matrixed, cross-functional organizations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to operate with high judgment, independence, and accountability in a fast-paced environment

  • A demonstrated understanding of and alignment with Netflix’s culture, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions, build trusted partnerships, and influence stakeholders to drive aligned outcomes.

  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, or Mandarin is strongly preferred.
