Position overview

This position covers financial reporting for RGA Japan primarily under Japan reporting standards and statutory reporting. Job would include maintaining local GL (books and records), financial reporting to regulator in Japan, tax filing and other finance tasks relevant to the Japan financial closing process. This job will also be able to support the USGAAP financial closing for RGA Japan and understand the financial analysis and closing tasks relating to RGA USGAAP process.

Responsibilities

  • Japan GAAP/Japan regulatory reporting
  • Lead preparations of balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and various reports required by regulator
  • Lead executions of necessary control, check and analysis
  • Treasury activity
  • Support budgeting and business planning
  • Cost analysis and expense control
  • Support tax filing in Japan
  • Handle internal and external audit
  • Support USGAAP financial reporting and analysis
  • Support for preparation of internal management information

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) preferably in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in financial accounting, reporting and operations is required
  • Japan CPA, US CPA, Certified Tax Accountant (including passed subjects) or other equivalent certifications. Otherwise, Master's degree or strong experience in Finance field is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in insurance industry is an advantage
  • The candidate is expected to be a good team player
  • Business level English in writing/reading is required in daily operations
