We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead our electrical engineering team in the design and development of innovative consumer products. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in power electronics and embedded systems, and a strong background in driving products from early concept through to high-volume production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the electrical engineering team responsible for designing, prototyping, and validating electrical systems for consumer products.
- Provide technical leadership in power electronics, embedded systems, circuit design, and hardware development processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with industrial design, mechanical engineering, product development, manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure seamless integration and execution.
- Drive continuous improvement in design quality, performance, and manufacturability.
- Oversee development of schematics, PCB layouts, circuit simulations, and system validation to ensure robust, scalable, and compliant designs.
- Support the integration of power systems, including power conversion, motor control, and energy-efficient solutions.
- Ensure embedded system architecture and implementation meets performance, scalability, and reliability goals.
- Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to implement effective DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) practices.
- Partner with external suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
- Manage design validation testing (DVT) and compliance processes to meet regulatory requirements (UL, FCC, CE, IEC, etc.).
- Mentor and develop engineering team members, helping grow individual capabilities and team performance.
Skills Required:
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Strong expertise in power electronics, including power conversion, motor control, and battery systems.
- Solid background in embedded systems design, microcontrollers, and real-time firmware integration.
- Experience in developing and launching high-volume consumer electronics.
- Deep understanding of DFM, DFT, and regulatory compliance in hardware development.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
