Job Summary
This role is responsible for the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the Process Safety Management Program (PSP) for all Asia Sites (total 11 sites in 6 regions). The role is to ensure that operation processes are design inherently safe and all EHS gates in the new operation process project are reviewed. This individual will provide process safety technical knowledge to the Project Manager and EHS professional at the sites to ensure effective monitoring, oversight, and governance of process safety risks. He/She will work closely with various sites key stakeholder and follow through the projects. In addition, this role will also be responsible for 3 sites in Singapore sites (1 manufacturing plant, 1 HQ office and 1 lab), to ensure comply with all applicable laws & regulations and Entegris Corporate EHS requirements and continue to enhance the EHS cultures. This position is located at Kallang (Singapore), with 2 indirect reports and spend 15-20% of the time traveling to other Asia sites.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical guidance on Process Safety Programs for all Asia plants. Advise and assist Site Leaders, Project Managers and EHS Representatives to ensure that the sites operate within company process safety policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Drive the development, execution and continuous improvement effort of policies and technical guidelines associated with the Entegris Process Safety Program elements to assure compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to sites Process safety personnel to develop and implement solutions that mitigate potential process safety hazards.
• Continually work with Global/ Asia Process Safety Team to improve the Corporate Process Safety Program Procedures and provide guidance on site-specific procedures, as necessary.
• Facilitate process safety incident investigations and Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions.
• Collaborate with the Site Operations leadership and engineers to scope and prioritize capital improvement projects to improve process safety.
• Provide training for the corporate Process Safety Programs to the Asia Site employees (as required).
• Ensure Singapore sites are compliance with national and local environmental, health and safety regulations, ISO14001/ 45001 standards, corporate EHS standards and Bizsafe requirements
• Collaborates with Singapore site manufacturing and local leadership team to lead and drive improvements in organizational EHS program/ system, culture, awareness, and accountability
• Partners with Asia EHS team to support achievement of the company's EHS strategy
• Participates in the development of the company's Global/ Asia EHS Strategy
Requisite Criteria & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from an accredited college/university is required. Demonstration of equivalent relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
• At least 7 years’ EHS work experience in the chemical, electronic or pharmaceutical industry with experience in leading teams in site wide projects. Managerial experience will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in a chemical manufacturing environment and knowledge of independent engineering standards (e.g., ANSI, ASME, etc.) with an emphasis on Process Safety Elements and Risk Management program element will be an advantage.
• Credentials as a Process Hazard Analysis Team Leader, Process Safety Professional, and/or Professional Engineer are desired.
• Experience in driving cross-functional activities requiring specialized skill sets and expertise (e.g., PSM Audit teams, Incident Investigation teams, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Singapore environmental, occupational safety and health regulations, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & SS561
• Strong “consultant” skills, including the ability to influence and motivate leaders and employees through collaborative engagement and building/maintaining relationships.
• Good analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• High energy, motivation, and commitment to take personal ownership of issues and drive them to exceptional outcomes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate information to a broad range of people and audiences as circumstances required.
