Job Description

Purpose of the Job

To lead and manage the Client Accounting team to be an effective, efficient and profitable part of Ocorian. Working closely with the Regional Head / Managing Director, Head of Corporate Services and Business Development Director, the Senior Manager will be responsible for the operations and service standards of their area of expertise whilst creating strong profitable relationships with clients. To successfully manage and motivate the team, promoting a culture of teamwork through excellent leadership. 

Main Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Management  

  • Oversee the preparation of full sets of accounts and management reports for a diverse range of clients.  
  • Review unaudited financial statements and ensure they comply with the relevant financial reporting standards (e.g. SFRS, IFRS etc.)  
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing advisory on complex accounting issues, business structuring, and internal controls. Set and manage deadlines of clients in accordance with the agreed calendar defined by clients.   
  • Act as bank signatory and/or internet bank approver for clients’ bank accounts (as and when required)  
  • Manage and coordinate year-end audit processes for clients, liaising with external auditors to resolve technical accounting issues.  
  • Lead the preparation and review of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) returns (Form C/C-S) and Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) filings.  
  • Oversee GST reporting and ensure accurate quarterly submissions (Form 5) as well as any withholding tax submission and/or application for certificate of residence.  
  • Liaising with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) regarding tax queries or audits.  
  • Lead and review the preparation of the full spectrum of monthly payroll for clients. Ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, submission of CPF and statutory contributions, annual year-end tax filings for clients.  

Sales Support  

  • Support the Head of Corporate Services and/or sales team in preparing and follow-up on fee proposals, supporting the onboarding of new client companies and the expansion of services.  
  • Participating in meetings with prospects and/or intermediaries.  
  • Support the Head of Corporate Services in achieving new business targets including identifying and implementing new business acquisition initiatives (as and when required). 

Leadership & Operations  

  • Lead and mentor a team managing multiple client portfolios, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of accounting, payroll, tax compliance and statutory reporting services.  
  • Oversee, guide and motivate all team members to ensure work is completed professionally, efficiently, and in line with company and client risk standards. 
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with the team to ensure full awareness of deadlines, priorities and performance expectations.  
  • Provide technical guidance on Singapore accounting standards, payroll and payment practices, and corporate tax matters to team members and clients.  
  • Manage portfolio billings, collections and overall revenue performance to ensure financial targets are consistently achieved.  
  • Oversee resources planning, including profitability/recoverability analysis, workforce utilization and supporting career development and progression within the team.  
  • Lead and manage teams within the shared service office, including effective delegation, workflow monitoring, and supporting broader Group management activities.  
  • Identify training needs and development opportunities to enhance team capability and performance.  
  • Proactively identify issues, apply strong problem-solving skills, and implement effective solutions/work efficiency through relevant softwares.  
  • Assist with certification of documents required by clients and/or financial institutions, as and when required.  
  • Ensure full compliance with KYC requirements, maintaining uptodate knowledge of client businesses and effectively managing operational workloads to minimise risk to the Group. 
  • Review existing processes to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the implementation of enhanced operational efficiencies. 
  • Support Ocorian’s strategic objectives by contributing innovative, forwardlooking ideas that challenge existing practices and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Ocorian policies, procedures, and governance standards. 
  • And any other such duties that might be reasonably required for this role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Accounting /ACCA professional qualification and a Chartered Accountant 
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, preferably from a professional services firm in an Accounting/Outsourcing/Client Accounting/Audit environment. 
  • Proficiency in cloud accounting softwares (e.g. Xero, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics 365). 
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, CPF, Income Tax, GST and relevant tax rules, procedures and guidelines.
  • Client service focused with a commercial mindset and a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving. 
  • Strong technical skills in relevant area. 
  • The ability to effectively manage and motivate staff. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels. 
  • Ability to work using own initiative and make decisions within corporate policies. 
  • Strong time management, organisational and IT skills.
