Job DescriptionCE, short for Customer Engagement, is an omni-channel call center product which can be used to provide faster, smarter customer service. By combining an omni-channel contact center with CRM in a single, configurable, AI-powered agent desktop, support staff are empowered to deliver rapid customer service. CE makes it possible to bring together disparate sources of customer data from multiple systems, alongside all contact channels. This enables agents to deliver seamless customer engagement.
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and who is looking to be part of a diverse and highly skilled team utilizing leading edge technologies.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to work on mission critical high-performance components and to gain experience of many leading-edge technologies.
As a Senior Lead DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for planning, designing, developing and maintaining the build, test and execution platforms and the CI/CD pipelines that are used by CE and other IFS products. In essence, you will be expected to act as a technical leader, driving the adoption of secure DevOps practices, optimizing software delivery and ensuring reliable and efficient system operation.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities
- Automation and Process Improvement:
Implementing automation tools and scripts (like Bash, Python, PowerShell) to streamline tasks and workflows, ensuring efficient CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
- Infrastructure Management:
Managing and configuring infrastructure (including cloud services) and systems, ensuring scalability, availability, and performance.
- Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborating with development colleagues, operations, and other teams to understand requirements, align on solutions, and ensure smooth software delivery.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
Identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues within the software development lifecycle, including debugging code, troubleshooting system failures, and ensuring application health.
- Monitoring and Logging:
Implementing and maintaining monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues.
- Security and Compliance:
Ensuring system security and data protection through vulnerability assessments, implementing security measures, and adhering to relevant compliance standards.
- Leadership and Mentorship:
Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Containerization and Orchestration:
Implementing containerization technologies and orchestration platforms to manage and deploy applications in a scalable and efficient manner.
- Infrastructure as Code:
Using IaC tools to define and manage infrastructure as code, enabling automation and repeatability.
- Version Control:
Managing code repositories, implementing branching strategies, and ensuring code quality through version control systems.
QualificationsOverall Required Competence
To be a successful Senior Lead DevOps Software Engineer at IFS your mindset will be the key factor, but we would prefer you to have a relevant academic degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) preferably in software engineering.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide evidence of experience in most of the following technologies:
- Kubernetes
- PowerShell, bash or python scripting
- Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking (including Routing, Switching, Load Balancing, VPN and NAT)
- RDBMS or Document database deployment and administration
- Infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Helm, Terraform, Ansible, Cross-plane)
- Azure Networking and Security
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Good understanding of and experience supporting VoIP / SIP solutions
