Senior HR Business Partner – Global Sales & Marketing (GSM)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior HR Business Partner to serve as the strategic HR partner to our Global Sales & Marketing (GSM) Division. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for leading the GSM HR function while partnering closely with business leaders to deliver effective, compliant and people-focused HR solutions across a highly diverse international environment.

Operating within a complex, entrepreneurial and matrixed organization, you will support leaders and employees across 22 source countries, including Singapore, China, India, Kenya, Nepal and Russia. You will play a critical role in shaping people strategies, driving organizational effectiveness, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and delivering exceptional employee lifecycle support.

This role offers the opportunity to influence business outcomes on a global scale while working closely with senior leaders across HR, operations, sales, recruitment and marketing functions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Partner with GSM leadership to align people strategies with business objectives, providing data-driven insights on workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, budgeting, and operational reporting.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, contracts, workplace policies, WHS, and flexible work arrangements, while collaborating with HR teams and managing external HR service providers to deliver effective HR solutions.

HR Policies, Processes and Systems

  • Develop and maintain compliant HR policies, procedures, and employment documentation that align with organizational values, legal requirements, and global frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement, leverage HR technology to enhance efficiency, and support change initiatives to strengthen stakeholder engagement and adoption.

Reward, Payroll and Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Partner with Group Compensation & Benefits and stakeholders to maintain competitive compensation and benefits programs, while supporting accurate, secure, and compliant multi-country payroll processes.
  • Support payroll processes across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, security and compliance.

Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management

  • Partner with leaders to identify workforce and capability needs, develop effective talent acquisition strategies, and ensure the compliant use of recruitment technologies to attract high-quality talent and enhance the candidate experience.
  • Support performance management, probation reviews, retention initiatives, and succession planning while promoting inclusive talent practices that advance diversity, equity, and belonging.

Organizational Development and Learning

  • Conduct training needs analyses and deliver learning, leadership development, and capability-building initiatives that support employee growth and business objectives.
  • Promote continuous learning through digital platforms and internal expertise, while maintaining training compliance records and driving completion rates across the business.

Wellness, Health & Safety (WHS)

  • Partner with the WHS Australasia team to ensure workplace health and safety risks are effectively identified, managed and mitigated.
  • Monitor WHS action plans, reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
  • Provide leaders with guidance and insights to support safe and healthy workplaces across multiple jurisdictions.

About You

You are a highly capable HR professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach. You thrive in complex, international environments and are comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy while influencing stakeholders across multiple levels and cultures.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 8–10+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, including senior HR business partnering responsibilities.
  • Proven success operating in complex, matrixed and geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Strong expertise across workforce planning, employee relations, organizational development, talent acquisition, compensation and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting leaders through change and transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation and conflict-resolution capabilities.
  • Experience supporting multiple countries and navigating varying employment legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and translate insights into action.
  • High learning agility and adaptability.

Desirable Experience

  • HR experience across Asia and/or EMEA regions.
  • International and multicultural HR experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business operations.
  • Experience within the higher education sector.
  • Multilingual capabilities.
  • Advanced problem-solving, planning and project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work across multiple time zones to support a global workforce.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including to Singapore, United Arab Emirates (Dubai), India and China, for periods of up to two weeks at a time.
