The Valuation Senior Associate leads valuation engagements, conducts research, analyzes financial data, prepares reports, and mentors junior staff while also assisting in business development.
The Valuation Senior Associate will be a part of our Singapore office, which is the center of excellence within APAC, and will have the opportunity to work on cross-border assignments within the region. This role will not only be valuations-focused but will also have opportunities to work on other Deals advisory related assignments.
Responsibilities
- Lead valuation engagements for business enterprises, intangible assets, financial instruments, and purchase price allocations (PPA)
- Perform market and industry research
- Extract and analyse financial data to identify operational and business trends, key risks, and to assess earnings and financial position impacting valuation of a target
- Develop financial models and review financial projections, identify key value drivers, and assess underlying assumptions
- Prepare and deliver high quality reports in accordance with relevant international valuation standards and/or financial reporting standards
- Take the lead in guiding and training juniors in valuation matters
- Assist the manager or partner in business development and preparing project proposals, engagement letters, marketing materials and technical documents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Relevant certifications (CFA, CVA, RICS or ASA) is a plus
- At least 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in valuation or corporate finance with a reputable firm
- Depending on the nature of the project, overseas travel will be required.
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Fluent in English and proficiency in Mandarin is a strong plus (due to the need to liaise with Chinese speaking clients);
- Familiar with valuation methodologies and approaches
- Familiar with the use of research/technical tools such as S&P CIQ, Mergermarket, Refinitiv
- Familiar with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, IFRS and US GAAP
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
