Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager – Financial Control & Operations to lead our global financial control and finance operations function.

Reporting to the VP Finance, this is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and scalability of our financial operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

You will own the Group’s financial close, accounting and financial controls environment, while leading the team responsible for day-to-day finance operations. You will also play an important role in strengthening processes, systems and controls as the business continues to scale and integrate acquired businesses.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical accounting and controllership experience with a practical, operational mindset — someone who can operate independently, solve problems, improve processes and build a high-performing finance function.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Financial Control & Group Reporting

  • Own the end-to-end monthly, quarterly and annual close process across all Group entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Review consolidated management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and strong financial controls.

  • Take ownership of complex accounting matters and technical accounting assessments, escalating only material or judgement-heavy matters to the VP Finance.

  • Maintain and continuously improve Group accounting policies, close procedures and financial control frameworks.

  • Ensure the integrity of the Group’s general ledgers and consistency of accounting practices across entities.

  • Partner closely with FP&A to ensure accurate actuals, appropriate accruals and reliable financial information for forecasting and management reporting.

Finance Operations

  • Lead and oversee the Group’s core finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, treasury operations and intercompany accounting.

  • Establish clear operating processes, controls, SLAs and ownership across the finance function.

  • Ensure strong working-capital management, including disciplined collections, payment processes and cash management.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions rather than relying on manual workarounds.

  • Drive automation and process improvements across finance systems and workflows.

  • Ensure appropriate controls and segregation of duties are maintained as the business grows.

Compliance, Audit & Governance

  • Own the Group’s statutory accounting and audit processes, coordinating with external auditors and local finance/accounting partners.

  • Oversee corporate tax, GST/VAT and other statutory compliance requirements across jurisdictions, working with external advisers where appropriate.

  • Maintain a strong compliance calendar and ensure all filings and statutory obligations are completed accurately and on time.

  • Act as the primary finance contact for auditors and external accounting providers and independently manage issues through to resolution.

  • Strengthen financial governance and ensure appropriate documentation and controls are maintained across the Group.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop the finance operations and accounting team, establishing clear accountability and high standards of execution.

  • Review the team’s output rather than relying on the VP Finance for detailed review or day-to-day supervision.

  • Build effective processes and ways of working that enable the team to operate independently and efficiently.

  • Support the development of team members and identify opportunities to strengthen capabilities as the business scales.

  • Create a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and collaboration across Finance.

Systems, Transformation & Scaling

  • Lead finance process improvement and automation initiatives across the Group.

  • Identify opportunities to improve the use of finance systems, integrations and workflows.

  • Partner with Product, Operations, Commercial and other teams to solve cross-functional finance process issues.

  • Develop scalable processes capable of supporting increasing transaction volumes and business complexity.

  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new finance tools and systems where appropriate.

M&A & Integration

  • Lead the finance workstream for integration of acquired businesses, including accounting, controls, systems and operational processes.

  • Support financial due diligence and transaction-related finance activities where required.

  • Drive the transition of acquired entities onto Group accounting policies, systems and control frameworks.

  • Identify and resolve legacy accounting, reconciliation and operational issues arising from acquisitions.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Approximately 10-12+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant experience in financial control, accounting and finance operations.

  • Qualified accountant or equivalent professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent) strongly preferred.

  • Strong technical accounting foundation with the ability to independently assess and resolve accounting issues.

  • Demonstrated ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, audit and statutory compliance across multiple entities.

  • Experience managing and developing finance teams.

  • Experience working in a multi-country or international environment.

  • Strong understanding of AP, AR, billing, collections, treasury operations and working-capital management.

  • Experience improving financial controls and designing scalable finance processes.

  • Strong systems mindset with experience implementing automation and process improvements.
